  1. TECHNICAL  OF MEDITATION for silence

  2.

  3. Make yourself quiet and comfortable in a place where you will not be disturbed.

  4. Choose a place where you can sit for twenty minutes with your eyes closed without being interrupted.

  5. Once you are fully seated, gently close your eyes. You will notice that thoughts follow one another in an uninterrupted flow. Observe them without worrying about them.

  6. Then after a minute, gently introduce your chosen thought, "  OM  Or whatever and start repeating it mentally effortlessly, easily. If your mind wanders into other thoughts don't worry, it's normal and natural. Simply come back to the mantra when you realize that you are no longer repeating it. That's all there is to do.

  7. Repeat the mantra inwardly, silently, effortlessly. When you realize that you are no longer thinking it, effortlessly come back to it. The point is not to focus on it. The point is to go through the simple process of repeating the mantra, to lose it and come back to it when you have lost it. Do not resist if the mantra tends to become less distinct. Thinking of the mantra does not imply a clear pronunciation of the mantra.

  8. Practice this way for twenty minutes then, while keeping your eyes closed, take  a few minutes of rest before getting up.
